Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and a love for working with young children. The Preschool Cook will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving healthy meals and snacks while ensuring that all dietary restrictions and safety standards are met.

- Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks for preschool-aged children, accommodating allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Ensure compliance with all local and state food safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including proper storage of food and supplies.
- Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with staff to create seasonal menus that incorporate fresh, locally sourced ingredients when possible.
- Engage with children during meal times, encouraging healthy eating habits and fostering a positive mealtime environment.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Maintain accurate records of menus, food purchases, and dietary needs of children.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking, preferably in a childcare, school, or similar setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs for children.
- Ability to follow recipes and adapt meals to meet specific dietary preferences and restrictions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for working with children.
- Basic understanding of food safety practices.
- Certification in Food Handlers' Safety (or willingness to obtain) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility in work hours to accommodate meal preparation needs.
