Our Richmond, VA location is looking for a dedicated and caring part-time Kitchen Staff helper to join our incredible team! This position is responsible for preparing and serving meals for children, ensuring food safety and sanitation, and adhering to dietary restrictions while prioritizing the children’s safety and well-being.
Hours: 8:00am - 1:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely handle and prepare all food in accordance with food safety standards.
- Maintain a food temperature log in compliance with Food Handling Regulations.
- Prepare daily menu items, including lunch and two snacks.
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen and classrooms as needed.
- Serve food to children in the classrooms.
- Ensure compliance with all food handling laws and regulations.
- Maintain appropriate portion sizes for meals and snacks.
- Remove midday trash when needed.
- Provide classroom coverage as required.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a food service setting, ideally working with children.
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Ability to prepare simple meals and snacks.
- SERV Safe or Food Handler certification preferred.
- Accurate food preparation and portioning skills.
- Strong communication skills with staff and parents.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and dietary needs.
