The kitchen support role is responsible for assisting with cleaning, organizing, and distributing snacks in a preschool/daycare setting. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment while ensuring that snacks are served to children in a timely and organized manner.

Kitchen Cleaning and Organization:
- Clean kitchen counters, sinks, dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Ensure the kitchen area remains sanitized and free of any hazards.
- Organize kitchen supplies and snack storage areas.
- Dispose of trash and recycling in the appropriate bins and maintain cleanliness around trash disposal areas.
- Assist in maintaining inventory and restocking snacks and supplies as needed.
- Clean kitchen counters, sinks, dishes, utensils, and equipment.

Snack Preparation and Distribution:
- Assist in preparing snacks for the children, following safety and nutritional guidelines.
- Set up snack stations or areas for children to easily access snacks.
- Distribute snacks to children according to schedules, ensuring proper portion sizes and dietary needs (allergy food preference).
- Monitor children’s snack times, assisting them as needed with opening packages, pouring drinks, etc.
- Assist in preparing snacks for the children, following safety and nutritional guidelines.

- Ensure food handling practices meet health and safety standards.
- Keep track of expiration dates and remove any expired food items.
- Report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to the kitchen supervisor or preschool manager.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with other admins and teachers to meet the needs of children and ensure smooth snack transitions.
- Assist in special events or occasions that require additional food preparation or cleanup.

- Prior experience in a kitchen, preschool, or child care environment is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of basic food safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Friendly, patient, and able to work well with children and staff.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning and lifting tasks as needed.
- This is a part-time position.
- Work is typically performed in the kitchen and snack areas, requiring standing, bending, and occasional lifting.
- Standard work hours will be 11:00 to 4:00, with additional hours as needed. including weekends to clean and organize
- Current TB test result
- Proof of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination
- Completed DCYF background check
- Valid Food Handler’s Card
