- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans based on Goddard’s play-based curriculum
- Foster a classroom environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore
- Support children in developing emerging self-help skills, such as handwashing, potty training, and feeding
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure the success of each child’s learning experience
- Assist with classroom activities, group games, and story time
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment
- Supervise outdoor play and ensure child safety at all times
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
- Model respectful and professional behavior at all times
- High school graduate (at least 18 years of age)
- Meet the requirements set forth by the state licensing agencies which include, but are not limited to:
- 2 years experience working with children
- -or- 1 year experience working with children & 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field
- -or- CDA
- -or- degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- CDA credential
- Previous experience in a licensed child care center or preschool
- Experience working with toddlers or two-year olds
