Responsibilities of a Kitchen Manager/Bus Driver include the following:
- Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
- Supporting each child’s social and emotional development
- Establishing positive and effective family relations
- Working with the classroom teachers and in conjunction with the entire faculty
- Managing and Planning Daily Bus Routes
- Completing Daily Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections
- Completing Weekly, Quarterly, and Annual Inspections
- Maintaining Maintenance and Cleanliness of Bus
- Assisting in other areas as needed assigned by management including being a floater in the classrooms
- Preparing fresh fruit, vegetables, and other food products;
- Serving breakfast if needed; heating and serving lunch for all classrooms; serving a morning and afternoon snack for all classrooms;
- Inventory
- Calculating portion sizes;
- Cleaning and washing prep table, sweeping and mopping the floors, and cleaning and organizing the prep fridge and pantry;
- Rinsing kitchen equipment and cutting boards;
- Maintaining overall cleanliness in the kitchen;
- Assisting in other areas as needed assigned by management including being a floater in the classrooms.
- Shows empathy and compassion for young children
- Is dependable and adaptable and enjoys working together toward a common goal
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
- Driver Requirements:
· Be at least 21 years of age, with documented proof of age
· Maintain a valid driver’s license for The State of Texas
· Have no driving-related convictions or citations in the last 3 years
· Have current CPR and first aid certifications
· Pass GSI Transportation Test as well as any additional training requirements - Kitchen Manager must have food managers certificate for the State of Texas. Cleanliness and knowledge of hygiene rules in a kitchen. Be well groomed.
