About Us:
The Goddard School is a nurturing, play-based early childhood center dedicated to providing a safe and enriching environment for children to grow, learn, and thrive. We are seeking a reliable, organized, and compassionate team member who can serve as our Resource Teacher and step in as a Cook/Kitchen Manager when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Cook / Kitchen Manager
Qualifications include:
- A current Serve Safe Certificate. If you do not have an up-to-date certificate, one will need to be obtained before starting. The fee for this class and exam will be reimbursed after 90 days of employment.
- Ability to prepare and serve food in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with school personnel, teachers, children, and parents.
- An approved criminal record check and fingerprints are required by the state regulations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Ordering food and paper products
- Ensuring the
- safe handling and preparation of all foods
- Preparing menus and ensuring the menus are following the state and federal regulations.
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations relating to food handling
- Maintain appropriate portion sizes.
- Maintain a clean and functional kitchen, pantry and appliances.
Resource Teacher
- Step into classrooms as needed to assist with supervision, routines, and activities.
- Support teachers in implementing curriculum and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
- Build relationships with children and staff to create a cohesive school community.
Qualifications:
- Experience in food preparation and kitchen management (early childhood setting preferred)
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain.
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Warm, team-oriented, and flexible; enjoys working with young children.
