The Goddard School – Lake in the Hills is seeking a dedicated and flexible individual to join our team as a Kitchen Manager/Teacher Assistant. This full-time role is split between managing our catered food service and assisting in classrooms as needed. You will play an important role in managing and distributing nutritious and delicious meals that are catered for our young learners. We are passionate about fostering a nurturing environment, and your kitchen management expertise will help us achieve that mission!
Responsibilities
Kitchen (50%)
- Receive daily catering orders (no cooking required)
- Portion and separate meals for Breakfast, Lunch and Snack
- Deliver food to classrooms
- Handle dishwashing and kitchen clean-up
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen space in compliance with health regulations.
Classroom (50%)
- Assist lead teachers in classrooms across all age groups
- Provide coverage during staff breaks
- Support classroom routines, activities, and supervision of children
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and fun learning environment
Qualifications
- Reliable, flexible, and able to multitask
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for working with children.
- Strong organizational skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Comfortable working with children of all ages
- Previous childcare or kitchen experience is a plus, but not required (we will train the right candidate)Details
