About the Role
The Program Director partners closely with the Owner to guide the daily operations of the school and uphold the high standards that define the Goddard experience. This leader supports faculty, nurtures family partnerships, and cultivates a joyful, organized, and inclusive school culture grounded in connection, respect, and high-quality learning.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership & Quality Assurance
· Conduct regular classroom walkthroughs to observe practice, ensure safety, and support high-quality learning environments
· Provide curriculum support and guidance that aligns with Goddard’s educational philosophy
· Coach and mentor faculty through modeling, feedback, and ongoing professional development
· Ensure adherence to Goddard standards, Connecticut licensing regulations, and best practices in early childhood education
· Monitor classroom ratios, staffing needs, and daily scheduling to ensure smooth, consistent operations
School Operations & Community Engagement
· Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, HR support, and quality assurance
· Lead school-wide events, celebrations, and community-building experiences
· Build strong, trusting relationships with faculty, children, and families
· Partner with families to resolve concerns with empathy, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindset
· Support budgeting, compliance, enrollment, and other administrative processes
· Foster a positive, professional environment for staff and families
· Model and promote inclusive practices that reflect our commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all

· Smooth Daily Operations: Classrooms are well-staffed, ratios are maintained, and the school runs efficiently and joyfully
· Clear, Consistent Communication: Transparent, timely, and supportive messaging to staff and families
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
· Strong communication and relationship-building skills
· Ability to lead with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications
· 5+ years of experience in program administration or school leadership
· Experience with NAEYC accreditation
· Knowledge of Connecticut licensing regulations and best practices in early childhood education
· Experience supporting inclusive, culturally responsive school communities
