- Lead an Infant/Toddler classroom with full ownership of routines, structure, and environment
- Create a calm, safe, and responsive environment aligned with developmental needs
- Maintain strong classroom management using positive guidance techniques
- Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Observe, document, and support each child’s developmental milestones
- Adapt activities to meet individual needs
- Build strong, professional relationships with families through daily communication
- Provide clear updates on development, routines, and any concerns
- Handle parent questions with confidence and professionalism
- Maintain strict adherence to all licensing, health, and safety standards
- Ensure classroom cleanliness, organization, and readiness at all times
- Supervise children actively during indoor and outdoor activities
- Experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare setting
- Strong reliability and professionalism (attendance and punctuality are critical)
- Ability to manage a classroom independently
- Comfortable communicating with parents daily
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or coursework in Early Childhood Education
- 1–3 years of classroom experience
- Familiarity with Virginia licensing requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
- Looking for a “watch the kids” job
- Frequently late or unreliable
- Uncomfortable with parent communication
- Not interested in structure, curriculum, or accountability
