- Plan and implement engaging, play-based lesson plans aligned with The Goddard School curriculum for preschool-age children (ages 3–5)
- Foster each child's school readiness through intentional development of early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional and fine and gross motor skills
- Create a classroom environment that sparks curiosity, encourages independence and builds confidence in every child
- Guide children through the social dynamics of preschool — sharing, conflict resolution, cooperation and building friendships
- Supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers in the preschool classroom
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's kindergarten readiness, developmental milestones and daily activities
- Conduct and document developmental assessments and maintain portfolios for each child
- Collaborate with school leadership on curriculum planning and school-wide programming
- Adhere to all health, safety and licensing guidelines

- Associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required; bachelor's preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with preschool-age children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Strong understanding of preschool development and school readiness best practices
- Demonstrated ability to deliver play-based, child-led learning in an engaging classroom environment
- Demonstrates patience, warmth and genuine enthusiasm for the preschool years
- Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with classroom team members
- Strong communication skills with parents — regular written and verbal updates are a key part of this role
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
