Position Summary

The Goddard School® of Greenpoint, located at 85 Commercial Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222 is seeking a reliable, friendly, and detail-oriented Office Manager to join our early childhood education team. Our School is a newly built, state-of-the-art, one-story, 10,000-square-foot learning environment designed with children and educators in mind. Filled with natural light and thoughtfully created spaces, our School offers an inspiring setting where teachers can do their best work and children can learn, explore, and thrive.

As an office manager, you will play a key role in supporting daily operations of the school by providing administrative, customer service, and organizational support. The position ensures a welcoming, professional environment for families, staff, and visitors while maintain alignment with Goddard’s standards and policies. Our Office Manager will report directly to our Owner and collaborates closely with our Director of Education.

Compensation: $40,000-$50,000 per year, based on education and experience.

Front Desk & Family Experience
  • Serve as the first point of contact for families, visitors, and prospective clients
  • Professionally greet, check in/out, and assist families daily
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls, emails, and inquiries
  • Support enrollment efforts by scheduling tours and providing program information
  • Maintain a warm, responsive, and service-oriented environment aligned with Goddard’s family-first philosophy
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Assist School Director and Owner with daily administrative tasks and reporting
  • Maintain accurate student and staff records in school management systems
  • Manage office supplies and coordinate vendor deliveries
  • Prepare documents, reports, and communications as needed
  • Organize and maintain compliance documentation (licensing, health, and safety records)
School Operations & Team Support
  • Provide general support to the leadership team and classroom staff
  • Assist with staff scheduling coverage coordination (as needed)
  • Help coordinate school events, family engagement activities, and communications
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes for employees (filing, documentation, tracking)
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative school culture 
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1–3 years of administrative, customer service, or office experience (childcare or education setting preferred)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Food Handler Certified (or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire)
 
Compensation: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
