Position Type: Part-Time
Available Shifts:
- Morning Shift: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- Afternoon Shift: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Candidates may apply for one or both shifts.
Position Summary
The Goddard School is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Part-Time Before & After School Teacher to supervise and engage children during our before and after care program. The ideal candidate will create a safe, positive, and nurturing environment while facilitating age-appropriate activities, supervising play, and supporting children's social and emotional development.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide active supervision of children at all times to ensure safety and well-being.
- Welcome children into the program and assist with morning arrival routines.
- Supervise indoor and outdoor play activities.
- Lead age-appropriate games, crafts, and enrichment activities.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Serve afternoon snacks in accordance with school policies and health regulations.
- Monitor children's behavior and encourage respectful interactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and school policies.
- Communicate any concerns or incidents to school administration.
- Assist with transitions between activities and dismissal procedures.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to actively engage with children and supervise play activities.
- Must pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and actively supervise children for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities in various weather conditions.
