- Assist the Director and leadership team with daily school operations.
- Support front-office responsibilities, including answering phones, greeting families, organizing paperwork, and assisting with administrative tasks.
- Help maintain accurate staff and classroom documentation.
- Assist with NAEYC accreditation responsibilities, including preparing and organizing documentation, gathering classroom evidence, reviewing requirements, supporting teachers with accreditation expectations, and helping ensure ongoing compliance with NAEYC standards.
- Assist leadership with preparing classrooms and school documentation for NAEYC observations and accreditation visits.
- Support Michigan licensing requirements, school policies, and quality standards.
- Assist with maintaining an organized, professional, and welcoming school environment.
- Communicate professionally with families, teachers, and leadership.
- Provide classroom coverage throughout the school as needed.
- Give teachers their scheduled breaks and lunches while maintaining required child-to-staff ratios.
- Step into classrooms when teachers are absent, attending meetings, completing planning time, or need additional support.
- Assist classrooms during busy transition periods, including arrival, meals, rest time, outdoor time, and dismissal.
- Support teachers in maintaining classroom environments and practices that align with NAEYC standards.
- Maintain active supervision and follow all health, safety, licensing, and school procedures.
- Build positive, nurturing relationships with children while supporting our play-based curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and leadership to ensure classrooms are properly supported throughout the day.
- Experience working in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting preferred.
- Administrative or leadership experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation standards and Michigan childcare licensing requirements is preferred.
- Willingness to learn and actively participate in the NAEYC accreditation process.
- Must be comfortable working with children of different ages and moving between classrooms as needed.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work as part of a team.
- Must meet all state-required childcare background check, training, and qualification requirements.
