What You'll Do
As a teacher at The Goddard School at Knapp’s Corner, you'll help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, explore, and grow.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building positive, meaningful relationships with children and their families
- Planning and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- Encouraging independence, creativity, curiosity, and social-emotional development
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Observing and documenting children's development and milestones
- Communicating with families through our parent communication app and daily interactions
- Collaborating with fellow teachers and school leadership
- Following all school policies, licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures
- Bringing positivity, patience, creativity, and enthusiasm into the classroom each day
Qualifications
We're looking for individuals who are dependable, nurturing, patient, and passionate about early childhood education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to create positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Willingness to learn, grow, and accept feedback
Additional Requirements:
- Must meet Michigan childcare licensing and background check requirements
- Must complete all required training
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds and meet the physical demands of working with young children
- Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to children's safety and well-being
