Kitchen Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a monthly snack calendar, ensuring variety, nutritional balance, and accommodation of dietary restrictions.
- Order food supplies and manage inventory, ensuring the kitchen pantry is consistently stocked with necessary ingredients and materials.
- Prepare and distribute morning and afternoon snacks for all preschool classes in a timely and hygienic manner.
- Distribute meals to classrooms, coordinating with staff to ensure smooth delivery and adherence to schedules.
- Monitor food quality and safety, ensuring compliance with local health codes and preschool policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including proper storage of food and supplies.
- Track food costs and manage the kitchen budget, optimizing resources while maintaining quality.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to address special dietary needs or preferences.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance checks and report any issues promptly.
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification preferred.
- Prior experience in food preparation, kitchen management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and health regulations (e.g., ServSafe certification is a plus).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with staff and vendors.
- Physical ability to lift supplies, stand for extended periods, and perform kitchen tasks.
